Hundreds Walk With Easterseals to Strengthen Community Wellness

Easterseals DC MD VA welcomed hundreds of walkers on Saturday morning to its fourth annual Walk With Me fundraiser, a celebration of community, health, and wellness. The event at National Harbor brought together nearly 500 families, caregivers, veterans, and supporters of all abilities to raise awareness for the nonprofit’s life-changing programs.

Every step moved Easterseals further in its mission to remove barriers for individuals and families on the road to well-being through early education, physical and mental healthcare, employment support, and respite care. Last year alone, Easterseals programs supported more than 4,400 people in the local community.

Former NBC4 reporter and legal analyst Chris Gordon served as MC, returning for his third year to voice his personal support for the organization. “There are many worthy organizations in and around our nation’s capital, doing some great work,” said Gordon. “Easterseals is one that I really believe in because of the magnitude of its impact on our community.”

Thanks to generous donations and sponsorships, the event raised more than $72,000 – with donations still being received. Community partners also joined in by offering free health screenings, flu shots, and store discounts to walkers, sharing Easterseals’ commitment to every person’s well-being.

Easterseals believes that everyone benefits when communities are better connected, better educated, and more active. The success of Walk With Me is a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring impact of care.
