Natalie Vanderbilt

Natalie Vanderbilt oversees three Head Start and three Child Development Centers, supporting more than 600 children in the community. She brings over 19 years of experience in education and public health, with a focus on the prenatal to age five period.

A graduate of the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, Natalie earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Linguistics and studied abroad in Spain. She began her career as a bilingual immersion teacher in Washington, DC while completing a master’s in public health from George Washington University. Her work later took her to Los Angeles, where she led a maternal and child health home visiting initiative and served as Director of Early Care and Education at Vista Del Mar, expanding equitable, high-quality services for families.

Now back in Washington, Natalie continues to advance equity for children and families through health and education. She serves on the board of IDEAS Generation, teaches as adjunct faculty at the University of the District of Columbia, and finds joy in her large extended family of 19 nieces and nephews. She also loves exploring the world, languages, and cultures.
