TERMS & CONDITIONS
Cancellation, Refund, Rescheduling & Class Policies
These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between the registrant (“Participant”) and Easterseals (“Organization”). By registering for any course, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the state in which the training is conducted (Maryland, the District of Columbia, or Virginia), without regard to conflict of law principles.
1. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
All registrations are final upon confirmation of payment. Payment reserves a specific seat in a scheduled course and is non-transferable unless otherwise stated in writing.
Accepted payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
The Organization does not store full payment card information. Payment processing may be handled by secure third-party vendors.
2. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
No Refund Policy
All payments are non-refundable once a class is booked, except where required by applicable law.
Participant Cancellation
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to training@eseal.org. Written confirmation is required. If a participant cancels:
- More than 48 hours before class: Full class credit valid for 120 days from the original class date.
- Less than 48 hours, but more than 24 hours before class: $25 administrative fee applies; remaining balance issued as class credit valid for 120 days.
- 24 hours or less, no refund.
Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
Organization Cancellation
If enrollment falls below three (3) participants, the Organization reserves the right to cancel the class with at least twelve (12) hours’ notice. Participants may:
- Reschedule to a future class at no additional cost, or
- Receive a full refund to the original payment method.
The Organization may also cancel due to severe weather, building closures, transportation shutdowns, government emergencies, or other circumstances beyond its control. In such cases, Participants may reschedule without penalty or receive class credit with no expiration.
3. RESCHEDULING POLICY
Rescheduling requests must be submitted in writing to training@eseal.org.
- 72+ hours before class: One-time reschedule at no cost.
- 24–48 hours before class: $25 rescheduling fee.
- Less than 24 hours before class: Treated as late cancellation (see Section 2).
Only one reschedule per registration is permitted. Failure to attend a rescheduled class will result in forfeiture of class credit unless the absence is due to documented emergency or official closure.
Group Registrations
For group bookings:
- 24–48 hours before class: $25 rescheduling fee per participant.
- Less than 24 hours: Treated as late cancellation per participant.
4. LATENESS POLICY
Participants must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
- More than 15 minutes late: Admission may be denied.
- 15–45 minutes late: May be eligible for one reschedule with $25 fee.
- Late arrival to a rescheduled session: Recorded as a No Show.
Admission policies are enforced to comply with course accreditation, certification standards, and instructional requirements.
5. NO SHOW POLICY
A “No Show” is defined as failure to attend a scheduled class without providing at least 24 hours’ written notice. No Shows forfeit all fees paid. No refunds, credits, or rescheduling will be granted.
6. BLENDED COURSES (ONLINE + IN-PERSON)
For blended courses, all required online coursework must be completed prior to attending the in-person session. Failure to complete the online portion before the in-person session will result in forfeiture of the registration without refund or rescheduling eligibility.
7. CERTIFICATION CARDS & RECORDS
Participants are responsible for entering their legal name accurately at registration. Requests for replacement or corrected certification cards must be submitted to training@eseal.org. Reprint fees apply for errors caused by Participant input.
8. EMAIL & TEXT COMMUNICATIONS
By registering, Participants consent to receive communications related to:
- Course updates

- Limited promotional materials
Participants may opt out of promotional communications at any time via the unsubscribe link or written request. Transactional communications related to registered courses may still be sent as necessary.
9. CREDIT CARD DISPUTES
If a Participant files a chargeback or payment dispute for a valid and authorized transaction, the Organization reserves the right to assess a $25 administrative processing fee in addition to the original charge, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
The Organization further reserves the right to pursue collection of remedies for fraudulent or improper chargebacks.
10. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & LIABILITY WAIVER
Participation in training may involve physical activity, including but not limited to CPR demonstrations and hands-on skill practice. By registering, Participant:
- Acknowledges voluntary participation

- Releases and holds harmless Easterseals, its instructors, employees, and affiliates from liability for injury, loss, or damages arising from participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct as defined by applicable law
Participants are responsible for informing instructors of any medical conditions or physical limitations prior to class. Nothing in this agreement waives rights that cannot be waived under Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia law.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organization’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the course registration.

The Organization is not responsible for typographical errors, website malfunctions, or administrative errors, but will make reasonable efforts to correct inaccuracies promptly.
14. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable under applicable state law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
