Easterseals Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) empowers veterans who are at risk of homelessness as they pursue meaningful, long-term employment. We help veterans successfully re-enter the workforce and build lasting stability.
Our support doesn’t stop at hiring – we walk alongside each veteran throughout their journey, providing continued guidance to help them thrive.
Our Services
HVRP is easily accessible, hands-on, in the community, flexible and collaborative, and effective!
Dedicated case managers work with veterans to create an Individualized Employment Plan (IEP) with employment goals, strategies, and outcomes.
- Personalized assessment and career planning
- Employment counseling
- Funds for in-demand job training and certifications
- Job placement services and follow ups
- Referrals to supportive services (housing, health, legal, transportation)
Eligibility
HVRP serves veterans in the District of Columbia, Maryland (except the Eastern Shore), and Northern Virginia who meet the following criteria.
- While the word “homeless” is in the title, HVRP can serve veterans in a variety of circumstances.
- Extremely low income
- Recipient of welfare or public assistance
- Lack of permanent residence within the last 60 days
- Transitional housing
- Risk of losing housing or eviction within 21 days
- Enrollment in programs like HUD-VASH, SSVF, CWT, and other VA programs
- Living in a hotel
- Living with friends or family because of economic hardship
- Transitioning from incarceration
- Fleeing domestic violence
- Proof of veteran status (DD214)
- Active-duty service (1 day) and discharge other than dishonorable
