Services:

Easterseals offers monthly center-based respite care for the families of wounded warriors, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and civilian families of children with and without disabilities; as well as at-home respite care for active-duty military members with children who have disabilities.

Weekend Respite Events

Robert S. Wilson Community Respite Program, A Signature Program of the Robert Irvine Foundation

Easterseals offers center-based events one Saturday a month for children with disabilities and children of wounded warriors, veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders. Each event has a theme with a variety of interactive activities. Children ages 6 months to 10 years old receive one-on-one care from vetted volunteers.

Volunteer at Weekend Respite

Weekend Respite is entirely volunteer-based. We can serve only as many children as there are volunteers. Volunteers are paired with a child based on mutual interests and the volunteer’s skills and comfort level.

Exceptional Family Member Respite Care

In partnership with Child Care Aware of America

Easterseals hand selects highly qualified in-home respite care providers for active-duty Navy and Air Force families with children with disabilities. Providers help manage the child's day-to-day specialized care in order for the service member to stay mission-ready. Families enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program with an EFM category 4 or 5 can receive up to 40 hours a month of in-home respite care.

The Wellpoint Caregiver Resource Center

A space for caregivers to receive support, connect with Easterseals experts, and learn about resources for themselves and their loved ones. Located within the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Inter-Generational Center at our headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland.
